September 1st 2004, OPEN Networks launches new Web site

The new site features:

• Completely reworked interface giving an updated and attractive look and feel.
• Increased emphasis for customers who wish to maximise the benefit of ISDN connections. This includes a new router product, the OPEN524R, that is available for purchase directly from the site.
• Presentation of a new range of Broadband equipment and access to improved and expanded user documentation and application notes.

Introduction of OPEN Network’s iConnect range of installation, configuration and managements software.

OPEN Networks is a Melbourne based supplier of connectivity solutions for Network Service Providers and Internet Service Providers. OPEN Networks has a particular focus on solving the problems service provider customers have connecting new services and its 3rd Generation iConnect Wizards are designed to connect customers without the need to phone a call centre.

July 2004: New Solutions for NEXTEP Customers

Customers on NEXTEP's Tier1 ADSL and SHDSL services have new networking options available to them as a result of a joint project between OPEN Networks and NEXTEP broadband.

Termination of a NEXTEP Tier1 service with an OPEN Networks business grade ADSL or SHDSL router now provides routed functionality over the NEXTEP network without the need to purchase a separate router.

ADSL and SHDSL Tier1 terminations can also be mixed within the same customer network and with additional benefit of a common management interface. SHDSL can be used to provide symmetrical service at Head Office (required for bulk data transfer to branch locations) in conjunction with an asymmetrical ADSL service at branch offices.

Application Notes are available on both NEXTEP and OPEN Networks web sites which provide NEXTEP Tier1 customers with step-by-step instructions on how to set up the ADSL and SHDSL routers for maximum benefit.

Customers save money

Direct router termination on the Tier1 network removes the requirement for customers to purchase additional hardware (routers) at each of their connected sites.

Simplified rollout and management

With a single device at each location network management is simplified and network administration costs are reduced.
