Customers on NEXTEP's Tier1 ADSL and SHDSL services have new networking options available to them as a result of a joint project between OPEN Networks and NEXTEP Broadband.
Termination of a NEXTEP Tier1 service with an OPEN Networks business grade ADSL or SHDSL router now provides routed functionality over the NEXTEP network without the need to purchase a separate router.
ADSL and SHDSL Tier1 terminations can also be mixed within the same network with the additional benefit of a common management interface. SHDSL can be used to provide a symmetrical service at the Head Office (required for bulk data transfer to branch locations) in conjunction with ADSL services at branch offices.
Application Notes are provided for NEXTEP Tier1 customers, with step-by-step instructions on how to set up the OPEN 501 and OPEN 531 routers for maximum benefit:
