The iConnect family of products from OPEN Networks minimise customer support calls regarding installation and maintenance of Internet connections, whether they are dial-up, ISDN or xDSL.

iConnect Modular Architecture

iConnect products are built using client/server architecture comprising four major functional blocks:

• Server (iConnectEngine) - defines interfaces for other components and translates commands between components.
• Modem libraries - device specific modules that implement the iConnectEngine interface specification.   They allow access to the device through available interfaces using http, sockets or serial protocols.
• XML interface using the SOAP protocol to establish server/client communications.
• Flash user interfaces making use of the iConnect architecture to install, manage and monitor devices.

iConnect Flexibility

The client/server architecture provides the flexibility required for:

• iConnect products to be used in conjunction with each other. iConnectDSL, iConnectDial iConnectVoIP and iConnectISDN all install the Internet connection and then install iConnectDesktop and iConnectMonitor onto the customer desktop.
• A relatively simple process to customise branding for individual ISP’s.
• Customisation of iConnectDesktop functionality for individual ISP’s.
• Straightforward process to add support for additional dial-up and DSL modems and routers.
• Low cost process for providing web upgrades to ISP customers.
