How To... ISDN Direct Network Connection (Teleworking)

The NT1Plus II Direct Networking Application Note provides information on how to setup a direct independent connection between computers using anISDN network. This differs from the common VPN connection methods widely used to create connections via the public Internet and has some important advantages:

• Very secure, the connection is direct ‘computer to computer’.
• No additional service provider, your data call is only passing via an ISDN network and will not be counted in ISP account usage measurement.
• Very reliable, the only external dependencies are your connections to the ISDN network.
• Guaranteed performance via fixed ISDN speeds.

Requirements

For Client Configuration:

An ISDN service including NT1 Plus II with firmware version 3.500 or later.

A computer with the ISDN Wizard, supplied with the NT1 Plus II, installed.

For Server Configuration:

An ISDN service including NT1 Plus II with firmware version 3.500 or later.

A computer with an Operating System that will support Dial-in connections and with the ISDN Wizard, supplied with the NT1 Plus II, installed.
